Little Buckeye Learning Center is Proud to be a Part of the Ohio Step Up to Quality Program

At Little Buckeye, our preschools in Columbus, Delaware, and Sunbury, Ohio are proud to be a part of Ohio’s Step Up to Quality program. Our participation ensures that your child and your family will experience the highest quality childcare and education available in Ohio. Our dedication to the rigorous requirements of this program are a hallmark of our commitment to quality.

Additional Education & Training

In addition to meeting all of the requirements to provide quality childcare in Ohio, our participation in the Step Up to Quality program means that our management staff and teaching staff receive more training and education than typically required.

This translates to a higher quality of education for your children. In addition, our educators are trained to incorporate Ohio’s Early Learning and Developmental Standards in order to provide the best supports for your child’s growth and learning.

Building Relationships with Families

Our commitment to Ohio’s Step Up to Quality Program also means that we focus on building relationships with the families we serve. Not only do we connect families with information about community services and resources, we also develop and encourage participation in our own in-house seasonal family programs.

At Little Buckeye, we offer enrollment through the Ohio Step Up to Quality Program as well as standard private pay childcare enrollment.

About the Step Up to Quality Program

Step Up To Quality is a five–star quality rating and improvement system administered by the Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services.

SUTQ recognizes and promotes learning and development programs that meet quality program standards that exceed preschool licensing and school age child care licensing health and safety regulations. Step Up To Quality program standards are based on national research identifying standards which lead to improved outcomes for children.

All Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Preschool Special Education (PSE) programs funded by the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) are mandated to participate in Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) and are required to achieve a rating of 3, 4, or 5 to maintain state funding.

Programs are also required to administer and report on the Early Learning Assessment for all ECE and PSE funded children. The invitation to participate in SUTQ has now been made to all eligible publicly funded programs in Ohio.

In addition to ECE and PSE programs, ODE licensed programs that receive Publicly Funded Child Care (PFCC) funds from the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) will be required to participate in SUTQ by July 1, 2020.
